A few of us were foolish enough to try and swim to the Shipwreck a 1950s oil tanker that had been abandoned in the middle of the ocean. With signs all around saying "No Swimming" "High Tide" "Rip Currents" I let my inner ego get the best of me as well as my teenage curiosity on an adventure. The rest stayed on the beach saying were foolish and crazy! After 15 minutes of swimming, I heard my friend calling out for help. I was just trying to survive myself. And could do nothing, I was helpless. Within a few minutes he disappeared and never was found. I was seconds away from joining his fate but somehow I was able to get through the strong undertow current and high tide with 10-foot waves.
